Reaching Pinnacles

Here, we visited an oldie spot, Pinnacles, CA just outside Soledad, CA. Quite frankly, the first national park I've had the pleasure to hike on before it became a national park. It was so shocking to have to drive up to the gate and realize the fee is no longer $6.00 but $25.00. I had to visit again to think about life in general, probably one of the motivating factors that keeps my interests in hiking. Hiking is a visceral experience, your body is challenged and your mind is less focused on the past or the future; it stays in the present.
Sometimes you go through life wondering if your decisions up to this point was the right one. I've come to a crossroads where I hope I've calculated this well and that I am still on the path I had originally pursued. When you reach the pinnacle of a goal, the question changes from "when will I finish," to "what next?"
